WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE READING ROOM?

The Christian Science Reading Room is a community prayer and health resource, and bookstore. Here you can quietly read, pray, or buy the Bible, Christian Science books and literature. It’s open to everyone, and there’s always someone to answer questions or help you find something.

The Reading Room is an important part of each branch church’s outreach to the community. It’s an urban oasis in the heart of the city; a place where spiritual understanding blooms as your sincere questions find answers. The Reading Room is open to everyone searching for solutions to problems in their lives- physical, financial, emotional, employment, and other challenges.

Here you’ll find Mary Baker Eddy’s ground-breaking textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, along with her other writings, both in print and audio. Also available for sale or study are Bibles, Bible reference books, biographies and other books, magazines, even CDs which share the effectiveness of prayer as explained through Christian Science and proven by healing.

We also have books and music for kids. And you’ll find the current weekly print edition of The Christian Science Monitor, the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper. With our computers and free Wi-Fi, you can access the many online resources for exploring spirituality, including listening to audio podcasts.

Everything we carry in the Reading Room brings out the universal and non-denominational healing truth of God’s love for mankind, which Jesus lived. We are here because original Christian healing is active and effective now, and you should know about it! In fact, it is a Science you can learn and practice yourself.
